TRIBUTE TO DAVID GAMPER:
In late September, we received word that that one of our longest sustained friends and funders, David Gamper, passed away. David was an extraordinary man who worked tirelessly to support programs for at-risk children and families. We first met in the early 1980s at October Lane Housing while putting in family gardens with single moms and their children, and our friendship and his belief in us have only grown stronger since. Food Works would not exist today without his support and that of his family foundation–who have sustained our Gardens for Learning program for 16 years now. We will miss him dearly, and we thank David and his wonderful family for their strong belief in our work.
